We think it's important for a rider to interact with the same driver as often as possible. 

When you request a new ride from Onward on the web or mobile app, we'll show you your past drivers and you can specify if you prefer a specific person to drive.

That said, we also think it's important to have additional driver options in case your preferred driver is sick, on vacation, or just unavailable. Because of this, we will occasionally introduce an additional driver to a rider so you can have a few preferred drivers and be certain to always get one of them for future rides.
